Simulators

ATCWindows

OK guys, on to the simulators. ATCWindows is a windows base Air Traffic Control simulation inspired by Xavius’s ATCC simulator (a DOS based program, read below…).
In this simulator you will take the position of either high level sectors or approach sectors (no tower).
I highly recommend this simulator because it has all the functionality of XaviusATCC and more, because it is windows based, but you can try ATCC also just for the sake of it.
Visit the Yahoo group here sign up and download it, READ THE MANUAL FIRST which is provided with the simulator, everything you need to know is explained there, from installation to usage of the program. The manual will tell you a great deal of ATCO responsibilities and their job. Be patient and everything will come into place after some time.

You can also download LISTENER or LISTENER 2 (for Win Vista) application which is voice recognition software for ATCC and ATCWindows, you will get the feeling that you are really speaking to the pilots. I dont have the link now, try googling it.

Xavius ATCC

Xavius ATCC is older ATC simulator, but don’t led that misguide you, it is VERY good simulator. ATCWindows incorporated almost every part of this application and added some features specific to Windows based environment, which improved its usability. I would advise you even more to read this manual first and then the ATCWindows manual.
Here is a pprune topic on ATCC
NOTE: ATCWindows has a different author than ATCC and they have no under the hood similarities.
